DIY manicure of the week: Bette meets Mila

This week I’m reviewing Julep nail polishes for the first time. I recently found a coupon code to get one of their subscription boxes for only $3 S&H so I took advantage of it! These are 2 of the 3 colors that I received.

The pink color, Bette, is a gorgeous fushia. While I love the color itself, I’m not that impressed with the actual polish. Do you understand what I mean when I say the colors thin? I don’t mean sheer, I mean thin. Watery. Even after 2 coats, it’s still a bit streaky. The glitter accent nail is Mila. A mostly silver with flecks of pink and green glitter, this glitter polish is concentrated. It annoys me when glitter polishes are mostly clear polish with a tiny but of glitter; this one isn’t like that. This one packs a lot of glitter punch, but it also makes the polish very thick.

Like I said, this is my first time trying these polishes and I have to tell you, I’m slightly disappointed. With a price tag in the neighborhood of $14 a bottle, I truly expected more. Maybe it’s just one bad experience…?

Have any of you tried Julep polishes before? What was your experience like?

Happy polishing!
